The Save and Pause functions may seem identical since both suspend a virtual machine, but they differ in how they handle RAM. Save writes the VM's memory contents to disk, freeing that RAM for other VMs. Pause only suspends the CPU, so the VM's memory remains allocated and unavailable to other VMs.
